Our Purpose
That all may see Jesus.
We are a church in Ames, Iowa devoted to King Jesus through prayer, worship, and gospel proclamation. Our desire is to be a people who behold Jesus, follow His way, and make Him known in our region and beyond.

We believe everything begins with beholding Jesus. As we look to Him, we are transformed by Him. As we are transformed by Him, the world sees His glory.
Who is "King's People Church?"
Our Mission
Building communities of prayer, worship, and gospel proclamation.
We are called to be a people who seek Jesus in prayer, respond to Him in worship, and proclaim the good news of His kingdom in word and deed.
Prayer
We seek Jesus because He is worthy and near.
Prayer is not a side activity for King’s People. It is central to who we are. We gather to seek the Lord, intercede for our city and nation, and make room for His presence among us.
Worship
We sing to Jesus, not just about Him.
When we gather, our songs are directed to King Jesus. Worship is our response to who He is, what He has done, and how He continues to meet His people.
Gospel Proclamation
We proclaim Jesus Christ, crucified and risen.
The gospel is the good news that Jesus is Lord, that He has taken away the sin of the world, and that through Him we are invited into eternal life with God.
Community
We follow Jesus together.
The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. We grow as disciples in relationship with God and in relationship with one another.

THE PRESENCE OF GOD
When God moves from being a theory to being a reality in peoples' lives, it changes everything. We desire to be a people primarily concerned about people encountering Jesus rather than us or our brand of church.
AUTHENTICITY
We avoid tactics or arm-twisting and instead embrace a culture of authenticity Authentic power and authentic relationships will bear fruit over a lifetime.
WHO'S NEXT?
We are people who re-align ourselves with Jesus and leave the 99 to seek out the one. We are always asking who is next – the next to encounter Jesus, the next to rise up as a leader or influence, and the next generation behind us.
GENEROSITY
Generosity is a natural expression of the gospel. The gospel is generous and therefore we seek to be a community that is generous. Generosity includes finances, times, and hospitality, to name a few.
WE ARE FAMILY
We believe family is one of the best descriptions of how we relate to each other in our church. We have all been adopted as sons and daughters. We desire to live out a level of commitment and sacrifice that is consistent with the kingdom family.
our beliefs
We believe the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He is revealed in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. The Lord Jesus Christ is both God and man and is the only one who can reconcile us to God. Each time we partake of communion we remember Jesus lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
We believe sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. In order to receive forgiveness, we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ and submit to His will for our lives. God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and powerful lives in order to help others more effectively. In order to live the holy, fruitful, and power-filled lives God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water, set our mind on Him and His purpose, and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe God has individually equipped us and corporately gathered us as His living body so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to worship God, strengthen the Church, and share the Gospel with the community in which we live.
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised and will rule and reign on this earth. History will conclude as the wicked are judged and the righteous enter a new heaven and a new earth.
